Dollet

Geography: The Dukedom of Dollet is located on the eastern coast of the Galbadian continent, reachable by nearby train stations. The city is surrounded by farmlands and facilities for the manufacturing of various foods. The Galbadian town of Veronahill is very close to Dollet, and borrows many cultural influences therefrom.

Culture: Dollet is known for its art, architecture, cuisine and rich farmlands. Their food is a mixture of Balamb-influenced seafood and decadent rural dishes featuring famous Dolleti cheeses. The farmland that surrounds Dollet produces large amounts of grainery and is featured in many famous pastoral paintings.

Architecture: Dollet is built in an art-deco style, with sculpted balustrades, curving wrought iron finishings and filigree that point to a bygone era. Buildings from various different eras of development grow into and around one another, creating a tapestry of brick, cobblestone and wood that can easily confuse visitors.

Industry: They are a famous tourist attraction, and their tourism industry awards a high amount of annual gil. The radio tower on Mt. Merit was once a vitally important piece of industry, though in the 17 years since the S War it has fallen into disrepair. However, the tower has begun repairs for reuse now that radio broadcasting is once again viable. Due to the city’s association with broadcasting and their shared history, Dollet is usually closely aligned with Timber – though their geographic distance from one another makes a political reunion outside of the FGA somewhat difficult to maintain.

History: Once a much greater nation, the Holy Dollet Empire broke into two city states a hundred years ago: Timber and Dollet. The Dukedom of Dollet controls a fairly small territory, but its radio tower gives both political prestige as well as a reminder of better days.

Military: The Dukedom has a small militia that lacks both combat experience and infrastructure, so they hired Balamb Garden two years ago to defend their city state from the occupying Galbadia. They are now allied with Galbadia, to whom they provide supplies and workers.
