A concept of the realms of existence, of which there are at least three. The Material, where humans, animals and monsters exist on the planet Gaia, The Umbra and its dark shadow: The Penumbra. It is theorized that beings of energy come from other realms, but proven that they can exist in certain capacities in The Material. Sometimes the word “realm” is used interchangeably, but is not considered a technical term.
