Hyegsvun

Geography: Hyegsvun is located at the base of the Sorbald mountain range, amid a particularly hilly, forested and perpetually snowy region called the Bika Snowfield.

Culture: The culture of this town is divided between the lineages who have lived there for hundreds of years and the newer people who have immigrated or are visiting. Most townspeople embrace tourism as it brings in no small amount of gil, and they take pride in sharing their local customs with outsiders.

Architecture: A town of stone and wood, Hyegsvun had little in the way of notable architecture and was built on functionality alone. In recent years, the town has received a facelift of sorts to present a more tourist-friendly updated face to the world.

Industry: Hyegsvun had little impact on the larger world until after the Sorceress War, when it transformed into a tourist town. One of Hyegsvun’s most popular activities is its extreme winter sports community. The other is their annual festival.

History: Hyegsvun was besieged during the Sorceress War, and was overrun by monsters after a small Lunar Cry started by Esthar’s mobile weapon Lunatic Pandora. To commemorate the town’s survival and the courage of the people, Hyegsvun hosts an annual “Festival of the Hunt” where the town gates are closed and carefully selected monsters are let loose in the streets. People from all over can compete in groups or solo for points, bragging rights and rare prizes.

Military: The land around Hyegsvun is patrolled by Trabian Rangers, and a small barracks is located within the town. A local police force funded by Caldera City resides here.
